Memorial Hospital Gulfport is the largest municipal hospital in Mississippi, a public not-for-profit health system jointly owned by the City of Gulfport and Harrison County. With 328 licensed beds, more than 100 physician clinics, four outpatient surgery centers, and the only certified Primary Stroke Center on the Mississippi Coast, keeping enterprise systems running reliably is critical to daily operations.

Managed Services

PeopleSoft FSCM / HCM

MHG’s PeopleSoft environment spans Finance, Supply Chain, and Human Capital Management. As the system grew more complex, so did the cost and overhead of supporting it. They needed a different approach.

MHG’s PeopleSoft support model had grown into a full-time, multi-consultant structure with high overhead and limited flexibility. It was expensive to maintain and hard to scale. They wanted a partner who could build something leaner — a model where MHG could manage support independently day-to-day and bring in outside expertise only when it was actually needed.

They also needed a partner with deep healthcare experience and a proven track record supporting PeopleSoft environments like theirs.

Mythics designed a flexible managed services structure built around MHG’s specific needs. The engagement began with a PeopleSoft HCM and FSCM upgrade and later expanded into ongoing managed services as the relationship deepened.

Core support covered Tier 3 functional and technical support, as well as DBA and system administration. Mythics also delivered value-added services, including PTF build, Testing as a Service, and annual roadmap reviews. When MHG later decided to move to Oracle Cloud ERP and HCM, Mythics continued to provide managed services to keep PeopleSoft running through the transition — and was selected over the SaaS implementation vendor to continue that support long-term.

Services provided:

  • FSCM and HCM Functional and Technical Support
  • DBA / System Administration
  • Regulatory and Ad-Hoc Application Services (including 1099, tax, and PUM support)
  • PeopleSoft Test Framework Build
  • Testing as a Service (TAAS)
  • Upgrade Support
  • Annual Roadmap Reviews
  • Ongoing Functional and Technical Training

The restructured support model gave MHG the flexibility and cost control they were looking for. Unused hours could be redirected to strategic initiatives such as training, upgrade support, and technical services rather than absorbed into overhead.

  • Reduced support overhead through a leaner, right-sized model
  • Lower risk with structured, predictable support coverage
  • More flexibility to apply hours where they were actually needed
  • A long-term partnership that expanded from a single upgrade to six managed services extensions and continued through MHG’s Oracle Cloud transition
  • Unanimous board approval for contract renewal, with eligibility for automatic renewals going forward
